Senior Principal Product Development Manager (Commercial Desktop)

The Product Development Management team operates in a fast-paced environment where innovative thinking is valued. We focus on delivering products or computer-based systems for external customers, overseeing the entire lifecycle from product definition and planning through to production and release. Our team also manages modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line, while expertly managing project delivery from initiation to completion.

To excel in this role, you will have opportunities to manage high-complexity products throughout their lifecycles. You will drive solution readiness and gather best practices from across portfolios and business units. Additionally, you will collaborate with and mentor team members in designing program management practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage high-complexity products through entire lifecycles and support decisions regarding enhancements throughout the lifecycle until product End of Life (EOL). Ensure dependency and deliverable tracking across products/solutions/functions.
• Drive Solution Readiness and release readiness (organization wide). Ensure a plan is in place for key corporate initiatives.
• Define the program risk management plan and drive mitigation and resolutions.
• Proliferate best practices from releases across Portfolio and BU's. Drive consistent and accurate cross-functional program metrics.
• Design standard program management practices, collaborate with and mentor other members of the product management org.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge and application of engineering concepts.
• Understanding of business environment and solid understanding of the competition.
• Able to lead, motivate, and direct a workgroup and work in a team environment.
• Cross-Functional skill, communication skills, mentoring/coaching skills, negotiation skills.
• Problem-solving skills, ability to influence others to achieve results, presentation skills, financial and analytical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelors degree; or 8+ years with a Masters degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
• Has PC development experience preferred.
